I am a lesbian. I do not believe the right fight is being fought. I believe gay couples should be fighting to obtain the same legal rights as Christian married couples (i.e rights to property after death, etc) in the US through commitment ceremonies. I personally do not want to get married in a traditional Christian wedding because that particular religion, and frankly most, say to me that they do not accept me or who i love. But i do not feel as though just because i am not part of a religion means that me and my partners commitment to each other should not be recognized legally.
