Tennessee Marriage Laws: What the State Constitution says…
(a) Tennessee's marriage licensing laws reinforce, carry forward, and make explicit the long-standing public policy of this state to recognize the family as essential to social and economic order and the common good and as the fundamental building block of our society. To that end, it is further the public policy of this state that the historical institution and legal contract solemnizing the relationship of one (1) man and one (1) woman shall be the only legally recognized marital contract in this state in order to provide the unique and exclusive rights and privileges to marriage.

So let me ask this.Why is it when a person speaks out against gay marriage that they are sexist or racist.God designed us to make babies…Adam and eve not adam and steve.God does not support gay marriage …Check your bible…Romans and Leviticus.But….Also says judge not.Give unti Cesar what is his.Love the sinner not the sin.Let God judge that’s what my plan is.But I will always vote against it because its against my beliefs…
im 17 im gonna be 18 next month me and my girlfriend have been together for 2 years (yesterday) love is love we cant help who we fall in love with. you cant just say oh no you cant love him or her we cant help who we love i love my girlfriend to death and we soon hope one day to get married but we cant if we go get married and come back here we wont be considered married as a gay couple.(from what i have heard) witch means we have to go threw all the trouble of moving first. i think it should be leagalized its just not fair LOVE IS LOVE

So would a spillway faulrie be better? Sometimes you have to weigh the options and do the best with what you have to work with when making repairs. TDOT, USACE, TDEC, TWRA and USFWS are very concerned about Reelfoot Lake and the repairs are evidence of such. Big money is being spent on Reelfoot yes, recreation will be affected in the short-term, but the long-term reward will be well worth it.
This ban is completely correct and should not be changed under ANY circumstances. Marriage is between 1 MAN and 1 WOMAN.
Love is love, it does NOT matter if it is Man and Woman, or Man and man, or Woman and woman it is the same.
This is why we are all different. Straight, Gay, Lesbian, Pans, and Trans. We are different but I believe that one day no one will be bullied or judged. That is why straight people are straight and LGBTP are LGBTP. Besides if you would like to get technical about the subject of who would be having the children, it's the straight people who are having the babies unless you get an implant.
I am 16 and I have been gay ever since I can remember. Me and my girlfriend have been together for 1 year and 3 months this month of September. I dream that one day I will be able to see her walk down the aisle and have her as my bride. We live in Tennessee which does not allow gay marriage. I wish it did.
Dusty, I know how you feel, I am at the same point as you, I want to be able to stay in Tennessee and marry my amazing girlfriend. Love is love, there's nothing wrong with same sex marriage. I don't understand why it is not allowed. Me and my girlfriend have been together for almost a year in April. It is hard know that we will have to move away from her home state to get married..
Banning same sex marriage is ridiculous. Love is love no matter what the situation is. I was the one who said that I would never be with a woman no matter how bad a man treats me… But NEVER SAY NEVER!!!!! I met and fell in love with a woman 3 years ago and it has been wonderful. We have our problems like any "NORMAL" relationship. We want to get married and adopt some kids… Its sad that the law doesn't recognize REAL LOVE rather its man & woman, man & man or woman & woman… Really what difference does it make??? & all that are against gay marriage can say that it's a sin, but so is sex before marriage, lying, stealing, cheating, etc… THERE IS NO SIN GREATER THAN ANY OTHER SIN!!! But being in love is not a sin… It is a gift from God!
I agree that love is love! However, you can love another woman as a friend. Why u didn't become friend to that woman? Do u imagine that everybody start doing that? Who is going to create children, the future of this world? I guest it is ok then, it's almost the end of the world, right?
Law should be changed to allow for same sex marriages!
